The table below provides some examples of how to manage tablet devices in your classroom.
Implementing ELLA
What are some ideas for managing the tablets?
| Location | Use |
|---|---|
| On the floor | With robust, colourful protective covers the tablets can be used on the floor. |
| Quiet reading area | Place the tablets in a quiet area with cushions, or in the reading area or on a couch. |
| Outside | With a robust protective cover the tablets can be used outside in the shade, as direct sunlight will make it difficult to see the screen. |
| Learning centres/creative play spaces | Tablets can be incorporated into relevant learning centres/creative play spaces or near replicated play experiences. |
| On a table | Tablets can be laid out on tables, with headphones and stands made available for children if they choose. |
| Rotational groups | Tablets can be set up and used in small groups as part of your language lessons. |
