Implementing ELLA

What are some ideas for managing the tablets?

The table below provides some examples of how to manage tablet devices in your classroom.

Location Use
On the floor With robust, colourful protective covers the tablets can be used on the floor.
Quiet reading area Place the tablets in a quiet area with cushions, or in the reading area or on a couch.
Outside With a robust protective cover the tablets can be used outside in the shade, as direct sunlight will make it difficult to see the screen.
Learning centres/creative play spaces Tablets can be incorporated into relevant learning centres/creative play spaces or near replicated play experiences.
On a table Tablets can be laid out on tables, with headphones and stands made available for children if they choose.
Rotational groups Tablets can be set up and used in small groups as part of your language lessons.
