HEADER I can statement, Resource 2: App 2 Korean

App 2: The Polyglots at the Beach

I have been learning Korean using The Polyglots apps

Here are some of the things I have discovered in App 2: The Polyglots at the Beach:

This is a table that educators can use to share children's learnings with their families. It is a list of "I can…" statements. Each "I can…" statement has a scale that allows the educator to record how the child is progressing with App 1: The Polyglots in the Playroom.

The scale has three labels:

  • Doing sometimes with assistance
  • Beginning to do independently
  • Regularly doing confidently

The first line states:

  • I can name some colours in Korean. For example:

파란색

Paransaek

Blue

초록색

Choroksaek

Green

주황색

Juhwangsaek

Orange

분홍색

Bunhongsaek

Pink

빨간색

Ppalgansaek

Red

노란색

Noransaek

Yellow

The second line states:

  • I can express some likes and dislikes in Korean. For example:

난 빨간색을 좋아해!

Nan ppalgansaek-eul joh-ahae!

I like red!

난 노란색을 싫어해!

Nan noransaek-eul silh-eohae!

I don’t like yellow!

My favourite colour is:

Clipart drawing of two fish in black and white, allowing students to colour them in.
