App 4: The Polyglots at the Zoo

I have been learning Italian using The Polyglots apps

Here are some of the things I have discovered in App 4: The Polyglots at the Zoo:

This is a table that educators can use to share children's learnings with their families. It is a list of "I can…" statements. Each "I can…" statement has a scale that allows the educator to record how the child is progressing with App 1: The Polyglots in the Playroom.

The scale has three labels:

• Doing sometimes with assistance
• Beginning to do independently
• Regularly doing confidently

The first line states:

• I can name some fruits in Italian. For example:

  Una mela	Apple
  Una banana	Banana
  Un’arancia	Orange
  Una fragola	Strawberry

The second line states:

• I can say I’m hungry/thirsty in Italian. For example:

  Ho fame!	I’m hungry!
  Ho sete!	I'm thirsty!

The third line states:

• I can say thank you in Italian

  Grazie

  Thank you!

The fourth line states:

• I can make simple requests in Italian. For example:

  Vorrei un succo di mela.

  I’d like some juice!
