Things I can do in Chinese
App 4: The Polyglots at the Zoo
I have been learning Chinese using The Polyglots apps
Here are some of the things I have discovered in App 4: The Polyglots at the Zoo:
This is a table that educators can use to share children's learnings with their families. It is a list of "I can…" statements. Each "I can…" statement has a scale that allows the educator to record how the child is progressing with App 1: The Polyglots in the Playroom.
The scale has three labels:
- Doing sometimes with assistance
- Beginning to do independently
- Regularly doing confidently
The first line states:
- I can name some fruits in Chinese. For example:
苹果 Píngguŏ Apple 香蕉 Xiāngjiāo Banana 橘子 Júzi Orange 草莓 Căoméi Strawberry
The second line states:
- I can say I’m hungry/thirsty in Chinese. For example:
我饿了! Wŏ è le! I’m hungry! 我渴了! Wŏ kĕ le! I'm thirsty!
The third line states:
- I can say thank you in Chinese
谢谢! Xièxie! Thank you!
The fourth line states:
- I can make simple requests in Chinese. For example:
我要喝果汁! Wŏ yào hē guŏzhī! I’d like some juice!
Here are some pictures of some of the new words I learnt in this app:
