The Polyglots at the Concert is set in an Art Deco-style concert venue where the Polyglots are involved in various performances. Children will learn the vocabulary for the days of the week and o'clock times with some extension to half-past times. They will also learn questions such as 'What time?', 'What day?', 'What's the time?' and 'Where?'
Language learning experts emphasise the importance of linking language to culture. To inspire children’s curiosity about German culture, the learning experiences feature cultural items and characters from Germany. Some of the cultural items can be found in other apps.
Each community is unique. Teachers will find a variety of ways to apply the learning experiences in The Polyglots at the Concert to a particular child, group of children, school or community.
Each of the learning experiences in The Polyglots at the Concert is aligned to the Australian Curriculum: Languages, for Foundation to Year 2. Teachers can use this data to support planning or print the outcomes for children’s portfolios from Groups and Outcomes in the Educator dashboard.
